SYMPOSIUM ABSTRACT
Occupational analysis data serve as the basic unit of analysis for
a variety of manpower, personnel, and training (MPT)-related activities.
In addition, there is a growing interest in applying occupation-specific
methods to more broad assessments of organizational process and outcomes.
Interest and evolving needs of the MPT community are fostering significant
innovations and advanced technology research and applications in for both
the process and products of occupational analysis for military applications.
This symposium will highlight some of examples of recent occupational analysis
and organizational assessment applications and research. The presentations
will highlight current applications that are benefiting from new methods
and technology. Recent results from a variety of research and development
programs relevant to military and civilian occupational and training analysts
will be highlighted and discussed. The presentations will be followed by
an open forum for comments and discussions related to applied research
and application of the new methods and data.
